Minister of Agriculture during the meeting of the opinion board : We are with the peasant and will continue to develop the agricultural sector 

The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Saleh Al-Hassani, headed a meeting of the opinion board  in the ministry in the presence of the Ministry`s Administrative Deputy Dr. Mahdi Sahar Al-Jubouri, the ministry`s advisor for livestock activity Dr. Hussein Ali Saud, the ministry`s advisor Dr. Mahdi Dhamad Al-Qaisi and the general directors of companies and departments, the ministry stands beside the farmer by reducing fertilizer prices and providing agricultural inputs and modern mechanization . 

Al-Hassani also stressed the plans adopted by the ministry to prevent the importation of agricultural crops, including dates, which enabled the owners of orchards to sell them at rewarding prices where the price per ton of ascetical dates to (650000) dinars 

In addition, several government achievements in the agricultural sector were reviewed, including achieving self-sufficiency of wheat and high grade seeds, expanding the area of ​​rice and doubling the production of eggs and chickens after stopping imports, which led to the employment  and the opening of new investment opportunities

A number of items on the session  agenda were also voted on, including the assurance of the maize crop examination and free from harmful substances by establishing of a specialized committee that provides detailed results on the subject, and keeping the Nakheel terminal in Basra and activate the work of the station in the future

Due to start receiving of corn maize and sale of feeding grains and for the purpose of equipping the grain produced first-hand for poultry farmers, fish, cows and buffalo and to avoid accumulation and the existence of large areas planted with this crop, the Commission voted to equip breeders with yellow corn in one batch and not fragments, also  AL-Hassani directed the need to approach the directorates of agriculture in the provinces with the existence of various agricultural machinery and equipment in the exhibitions of the Agricultural Supplies Company in order to equip them to farmers and according to the instructions in force and work in accordance with steps and  approved sale methods

Al-Hassani pointed out that there are many ways of support for farmers will be approved during these days, such as subsidizing the price of fertilizer and taking into consideration the irrigated and semi-irrigated areas and providing different services and guidance to farmers and peasants
